In my role as Engineering Manager at Stella & Dot, I led the day-to-day software development on www.stelladot.com, as well as additional tools and services for the thousands of Stella & Dot independent stylists worldwide.As one of the initial hires in a rapidly-growing technology team that now numbers over 30 full-time employees, I wore all hats: software architect, systems architect, release manager, ScrumMaster, recruiter, motivator, developer.

• Created the Oodle REST API - a highly popular web service receiving millions of requests per day for listings in XML & JSON format• Co-creator of company's original iPhone app - "Marketplace for Oodle & Facebook".• Created the entire suite of server-side REST APIs (OAuth secured) for mobile app as well as corresponding Objective-C API client code within the app itself• Served as primary technical contact for team of external engineers working on Oodle's Android app• Created the Oodle Developer Center (developer.oodle.com) and all documentation therein; lead contact for all developer support questions• Contributing engineer throughout the stack on a wide variety of site features such as Facebook Marketplace, search and listing pages, listing management, widgets, log processing, etc.Oodle was a LAMP shop. • Senior software engineer, PersonalWeb server software development team (www.personalweb.com) PersonalWeb was "Behavioral Targeting meets My Yahoo!" - a browser home page product that adjusted automatically and brought fresh content to you based on your recent browsing history. Worked on the core team of engineers responsible for developing: (a) the custom JS widget framework that powered the individual widgets on the page, and (b) the mod_perl web server backend that received chunks of behavioral data from the client-side tracking app and rendered the proper HTML skeleton for the page.• Lead engineer on SearchScout, a high-volume, international mod_perl search applicationSearchScout called for paid/sponsored search results in realtime from third party XML APIs (e.g. Overture, NexTag, and Shopping.com), parsed the results, and displayed them in a search results interface. In addition to US & UK, SearchScout was also launched in Korea and Japan, so the application included full Unicode support. At its peak, SearchScout was responsible for nearly half of the company's revenue.The primary technologies used in my work at Claria were Perl, mod_perl, and JavaScript.

• Lead engineer and web application developer on Excite Sports (sports.excite.com)Excite Sports was one of the largest content applications in the Excite Network. Tasks here included development of Perl fetchers/parsers for our sports feeds (AP, Reuters, SportsTicker, etc.). Sole developer on the front end for our in-game functionality for MLB, NFL, NBA, and NCAA Basketball. Maintained layouts for existing news story pages, box score pages, scoreboard pages. Worked with the Excite Mobile team to allow WAP users to get live updates for games currently in progress.• Contributing engineer on Excite News (news.excite.com)Assisted with the maintenance of Excite News, our largest content application, written in Java. Maintained existing JSP layouts and managed the Perl fetchers/parsers for news feeds (AP, Reuters, University Wire, etc). The primary technologies used in my work at Excite were Perl and Java.
