I Am Gitmo, based on real events after 9/11, is the story of a Muslim Schoolteacher taken from his home, unexpectedly, by military personnel, to a CIA black site, a military base, to be questioned about his connection to and the whereabout of Osama Bin Laden. He is held, questioned and tortured repeatedly, all the while insisting he has no knowledge of the conflict and no ties to Bin Laden. The film focuses on the treatment of prisoners as well as the psychological affects on their captors, including the prison guards, the attorneys and military interrogator involved in the process.
