I provided engineering support for signal processing, SCTE message insertion, compression, and delivery of broadcast networks over an array of distribution channels including satellite uplink, fiber backbone, OTT and VOD within a 24/7/365 Transmission Operations Center including Primary, Backup, and Disaster Recovery signal paths. I performed emergency repairs and root-cause analysis for critical on-air broadcast processing, compression, and video transmission equipment distributing 18 high definition and standard definition networks to over 100 million domestic households. In my role, I worked in concert with Affiliate Accounts group to administer and manage our relational affiliate databases, perform satellite transponder relocation projects, and provide remote engineering support to MVPD technicians.

In this position, I was the solely responsible for all broadcast engineering activities supporting worldwide operations within White House Television and led modernization projects and efforts for my group. I was chosen to lead the cross-functional technical effort for a $2M project that provided capability to deliver high-definition video from worldwide Presidential event-sites to our Master Control via low bit rate IP networks, resulting in ad hoc satellite uplink savings of more than $750K annually. I developed training materials to ensure that rotating military staff could successfully perform all functions required of White House TV Videographers and provided remote technical assistance to worldwide deployed staff in a high ops tempo / zero failure environment.

I was part of a two-man broadcast engineering team that completely rebuilt three analog mobile units, upgrading them to HD-capable and operated them at a series of racetracks nationwide; producing more than 2,400+ hours of live programming annually. This role required extensive technical training skills to ensure that seasonal staff was capable of successfully operating all broadcast equipment and performing vital functions including: broadcast camera / field box lens operation, switcher, graphics, tape, audio, and post production / DVD authoring over months long race meets. I performed frequent remote technical assistance with staff to correct technical problems and coordinated / tracked all equipment repairs to keep systems fully operational.

In this role, I supported daily studio and remote production / transmission of live TV & Radio programming for Air Force News Agency. I was the station Avid Certfiied Support Representative (ACSR) and administered and maintained the AVID production environment. As part of a small engineering team, I maintained, repaired, installed and configured broadcast equipment systems valued at over $20 million including production switchers, studio and ENG cameras, non-linear editing suites, broadcast automation, audio consoles, and Television / FM Radio Transmitters.
