Promoted to Professional Services Director following a successful period doing the job as Head Of Projects. Across both roles, I had overall management responsibility for the Professional Services delivered by the business, encompassing a team of 34 people across consulting and project management. I drove through a standardisation of approach and practice to increase quality and reduce costs, increased the technical delivery capability to transform the technical team to deliver the services required in a changing environment and achieved a 59% increase in project management revenues to monetise an existing service and increase its coverage to reduce risk to the business and customers. With this and the other changes, it resulted in an overall programme where 100% of projects were on budget on 44% were ahead of budget.I took an active hands on role in resolving and addressing key or high impacting issues that occurred and working with the customers to ensure these were being addressed to ensure the projects still delivered to the customers’ expectations to meet the business case. I had overall responsibility for the delivery of £5M services across consulting, project management plus cloud migrations and worked with sales to shape the project services solutions and meet with key prospects to sell the concept of why ANS Professional Services and how we would deliver a successful project. This also included contract negotiations for key opportunities and being the key executive sponsor in ANS / senior supplier for key projects and managing customer relationships at that level.Board member contributing to the overall strategy and running of the business, including previously as Head Of Projects in a non director capacity.

Programme Manager
Programme Manager responsible for personally project managing the key and high risk projects up to £4M in value and managing the team of three ANS project managers. Due to rapid business growth, the team I inherited were using inconsistent approaches with ineffective project delivery and management, leading to project / cost overruns. I implemented new project management and service delivery methodologies to improve project delivery, increase margin through removing cost overruns, drive a standardisation in approach and improvement in quality, and improve customer satisfaction with the project management service.I mentored, developed and built the project management team to provide improved governance and delivery across the project portfolio. Following the Alpha takeover, upon starting in this new role, I took responsibility for and turned around key projects that were overrunning and not delivering, getting these back on track and then managing through to closure.

Managed and developed the support services to create a sustainable recurring revenue stream to build business value. I developed and improved the services including the creation and deployment of new services and managed the team of 9 delivering those services. I grew the revenue stream by delivering the pre-sales of the services through engaging with the customers to understand the requirements, sell the value proposition and then undertook service reviews with customers to boost renewal rates and upsell the services taken.The business grew overall revenue from £12M in 2009 to £18M in 2010, resulting in a takeover by ANS in November 2010 – a key component of the increase in margins in 2010 was the growth that I delivered in support services margin from £350k in 2009 to £1.1M in 2010.
