Since joining the PASMA Council and being appointed as a Director I have attended regular meetings and participated in the management of PASMA’s activities and direction. PASMA is an international not-for-profit association for the mobile access tower industry. Representing the interests of manufacturers, suppliers, specifiers and users, it provides and oversees the industry standard training scheme and is a major publisher of safety-related knowledge, information and guidance.

My role as a PASMA Lead Instructor and Mentor is to train new PASMA Instructor candidates and carry out post instruction mentoring. I also support and assist the PASMA in the rollout of new training courses and the promotion of PASMA through CPD courses, seminars and representation.

My company, Kentec Training Ltd, joined PASMA as a Training member in September 2003. In 2023 Kentec celebrate two decades as a member of PASMA.Founded in 1974, the Prefabricated Access Suppliers’ and Manufacturers’ Association (PASMA), is the recognised focus and authority for mobile access towers. PASMA advances safety, standards and best practice across a wide range of sectors and represents the interests of its members in the UK, South Africa, South East Asia and the Middle East.Whatever the need, the association has tower information, facts and expertise to impart at a level to suit everyone – from first time users to major contractors. Independent and self-financing, PASMA shapes and supports the future of the industry through the knowledgeable and enthusiastic involvement of its members. suppliers, specifiers and users like Kentec.

I am honoured to have been selected for the position of Deputy Chair of PASMA. As an experienced PASMA lead instructor, mentor, member and current chair of the PASMA Training Committee as well as the managing director of one of the UK's top PASMA training providers, I will endeavour to support and promote the good work that PASMA has completed to date and planned for the future, supporting safety and best practice for the Mobile Access Tower industry.

As a member of the PASMA Training Committee, I am able to contribute to the association's training scheme and further the safe use of mobile access towers in the workplace.

I am very happy to have been awarded the post of Vice-Chair of the PASMA Training Committee for a second time this decade. We have a lot of work ahead of us and I will fully support our Chair, Gillian Rutter during her term to push the exciting new courses and course updates we have in the pipeline out to the mobile access tower training industry. Honoured to have been appointed as Chair of the PASMA Training Committee. During my two year appointment, I have managed to lead the updating, development and publication of several new training courses including some advanced mobile tower courses and the riggers course.I have also been proud to have represented PASMA at several seminars, CPD events and industry presentations.

I founded Kentec Training Ltd in September 2008 which had up to that point been the training division of Kentec Tool Hire Ltd. My tasks at Kentec Training are to provide strategic leadership, active management and take responsibility for service standards, marketing, and customer retention. I, along with my family, work to ensure Kentec Group Services, Kentec Training and Kentec Tool Hire maintain the highest levels of customer service, efficiency and consistency, matching the professionalism of our market-leading clients and contractors.I am also a registered and accredited instructor for IPAF, PASMA, BAF, IOSH, CIEH, NEBOSH, First Aid and The Ladder Association.

Since joining the Ladder Association Council I have attended regular meetings and participated in the management of the LA’s activities and direction. The Ladder Association represent the interests of manufacturers, suppliers, training providers, specifiers and users, and oversees the industry standard training scheme and is a major publisher of safety-related knowledge, information and guidance.

Great to be appointed as a Ladder Association Lead Instructor. I am now available for instructor training and mentoring as well as facilitating CPD events. I joined the Ladder Association Training Committee to assist in the support and furtherment of the association and safety in the ladder industry.

I am honoured to have been appointed to the position of Vice-Chair of the Ladder Association, an organisation that I have been a member of and actively involved with for many years serving the council and training committees including chairing the association's training committee for many years. I look forward to working with the Chair, Deputy Chair, Managing Director and management team in forwarding ladder safety and best practice.

As I step down from the Chair of the Ladder Association's Training Committee I was very pleased to have been voted back to Vice-Chair with immediate effect. Which in turn will lead to another visit to the chair in two years. Passing the chair into the hands of Dennis Seaton and looking forward to working with him to further the safe use of ladders both at home and in the workplace.

The purpose of the Ladder Association's Training Committee is to ensure that a consistent standard is applied to all of our accreditation and delivery of training courses. The committee is formed by a group of dedicated volunteer members who work to maintain the highest standard possible available.I am very proud of my time as chairman of the training committee and what we accomplished during my time in the chair.

As Vice-Chair I supported the current Chair in the facilitation and running of the training committee.

After almost two years at Vice Chair, I am honoured to take on the Chair of the IPAF Training Committee. I would like to thank Tony Warren who passed the Chair to me for his hard work, leadership and guidance over the past two years. I also welcome Jim Quirke who was appointed as Vice Chair to the IPAF training Committee, I am sure we will work well together in furthering the safe use of powered access in the UK and around the World.

I am very proud to have been nominated as Vice-Chair of the IPAF Training Committee. I look forward to supporting the great work the committee does and both the training scheme, it's content and the many IPAF instructors push for safety when using MEWPs

My role at Kentec Group Services Ltd is one of strategic management.

After purchasing Kentec Tool Hire Ltd in September 2005 from my father, I continued to provide active leadership and management for service standards, marketing, and customer retention. I worked to ensure the company maintains the highest levels of service and professionalism with focus on needs of our clients. I am very proud to lead our team to being awarded the 'Passionate Hire Company Award' for 2011 from the Hire Industry, Hire News and Hire Association of Europe.The award stated that our Kentec Tool Hire demonstrated an exceptional degree of professionalism in all aspects of its business. It is customer-focused and driven by a desire to give excellent service. Customer satisfaction and loyalty is particularly strong due to the high reliability of its fleet and adherence to delivery times. Kentec is a first class hirer serving its local community.After 46 years as a part of the Kentec Group and Booker family ownership we have decided to sell our company to our long standing Operation Director, Lee Batson. We wish Lee all the best and hope he takes the company from strength to strength under his ownership and management.

I was appointed a Director of Kentec Tool Hire Ltd in 1986 and continued to lead the company to increased market share and expanded the hire fleet to include excavators and powered access.

I was appointed Branch Manager to oversee the day to day operation of Kentec Tool Hire Ltd when it was a single outlet tool hire centre by my father John Booker who was the managing director at the time.During this time I developed the company's operation and expanded to three branches across Kent and East Sussex.

I was employed by my father, John Booker in the family business as a small tool and plant fitter. Over the 6 years I developed effective workshop procedures and systems and the training of other staff members in the correct maintenance and use of plant, tools and equipment. My other tasks includes dealing with customers, suppliers and other staff members.

Part-time assistant in the workshop in the evenings after school and Saturdays. Assisting with the repair and maintenance of small tools and equipment. My engineering father ensured I received a good grounding in all things mechanical and electrical. I attended many manufacturer's service and maintenance courses being one of the youngest. This gave me a broad range of skills and experience and enabled me to turn my hand to the repair and maintenance of most all plant, tools and equipment on the hire fleet.

I was responsible for the management of building services, facilities management, building works projects, and processes that support the business of the Kentec Group. I have managed several construction projects from the basic shop and office fit-out to full construction and refurbishment projects. Kentec has completed several commercial property refurbishments and construction projects along with its other services of CAD design and steelwork engineering.I managed both strategic planning and management, particularly in relation to building projects and premises maintenance including:• Construction & Property Refurbishment Project Management• Construction Site Management • Building and Grounds Maintenance;• Building Services Management including Cleaning;• Health and Safety, Risk Assessment and Management;• Site Security;• Management of Utilities and Communications Infrastructure;• Space and Resource Management• Management of External Contractors and Services• Asbestos Risk Management• Fire Risk ManagementAfter the passing of my father, John, the founder of the Kentec Group, it was decided to close the company in Oct 2022 with no debts or issues.
