Two years later our family left Grenada, and I’ve never stopped moving ever since. So far I’ve lived in ten countries, several of them several times. After growing up as a Windrush kid in London of the sixties, I attended Mona and worked in Jamaica throughout the socialist seventies. Heady days of Manley and Marley - with large doses of murder and mayhem.We left Jamaica in 1988 and for twenty years I worked with the World Bank, perfectly suited to a nomad like me. During which time I hauled my family through some interesting times and places, including the violent meltdown of Zimbabwe under Mugabe, where we all heartily abandoned our so-called diplomatic neutrality. In 2008 I hopped off the bandwagon and returned to Grenada, my home I never knew. An inspired decision.
