Empathy is the most healing and radical action. My love for people, deep conversation, and building intentional relationships has led me to a career in aviation, after having dabbled in talent acquisition and recruiting! It is my pleasure to not only create a welcoming and comfortable experience while flying with Delta Air Lines, but to help open a pathway for you as you start your career, or transition into another. My name is Steven and I am a resilient, hardworking, collaborative team member. I am a friend, colleague, son, brother, cousin, nephew, and uncle. I am a first-generation college graduate. I am a son of a single mother. While on track to graduate early in three years, I had to take a gap year due to a family health emergency, and have now graduated on time in 2018. I never thought that I would lose my father when I was 21. When he was 22 years old, he crossed the Pacific Ocean with my grandparents so that my sister and I could have a bright future. Without hesitation, I crossed two state lines to join LinkedIn upon graduation as part of a pilot program called Recruiting Amplified. I AM DIVERSE talent. I am UNTRADITIONAL talent. I am here to fulfill a bigger purpose than myself - one I could never dream or fathom or even wrap my mind around. With that being said, I wake up every morning feeling a deep sense of gratitude - for all of the hardships and loss that have made me stronger. And when I leave for work and heading to places unknown, I feel even more driven to fight for myself and my family and to fiercely advocate for those who have seen a more unforgiving side of life. Hardships make us appreciate our lives and to not take the little things for granted. Through so much loss, I can still see the beauty of life and the open doors ahead of me. Postgrad life has shown me that you can have it all - work-life harmony, family, friends, a company who invests in you. As I start my corporate journey, I am doing an immense amount of learning, but will still be pursing opportunities in entertainment via acting, comedy and singing. Starbucks has changed my life in ways that I cannot describe. This company was there for my family and I during our darkest year. -
