Directed a team of eight professionals providing project management services to support the full line of the client company's products - universal life, term, whole life and annuities. Projects ranged from new product administration and new agent compensation methods to field automation. Extensive user interface and coordination of a large number of projects and people were required.Conducted a study of the management information needs of an insurance company through an enterprise wide assessment that included interviews and discussions with all levels of management from the CEO to the department supervisors. The results of this study documented the management information requirements of the organization, the relationships between information entities, sources and flow of information, along with where this information must be delivered and how it needs to be presented and used. Designed a methodology and drafted a proposal to support the data processing functions of a life insurance company pursuing an acquisition strategy. The types of acquisitions covered included both the purchase of companies and individual blocks of business.Provided technical support for a life insurance management system. Responsibilities included analyzing phases of policy administration, developing plans to increase productivity and efficiency, and implementing those improvements. Specific projects developed included automated policy assembly, on-line suspense account inquiry, automated minimum premium calculations, general ledger, budgeting and cash disbursement system and management information system.Provided technical support in the implementation of health care claims processing systems for Blue Cross and Blue Shield United of Wisconsin and General Motors.
