After four years as News and Public Affairs Manager, I assumed duties as "PD" for a truly remarkable cultural organization, jazz radio station KUVO, serving metro Denver, Breckenridge, Summit County and the I-70 corridor through Colorado, and globally via www.KUVO.org. In addition to leading a professional on-air staff of seven, KUVO has more than 40 volunteer programmers. Highlights included developing a Friday night funk show, and Sunday afternoon alternative Latin music show, and world music show. Operationally, I coordinated programming through a facility move, a complete hardware and software switch, and managed moving staff to a range of production locations due to pandemic lockdowns and social distancing requirements, while maintaining a “live and local” presence on the air.
