Steven Collins is an ecologist and engineer (P.E.) with a strong water resource background, specializing in designing habitat restoration and water quality improvements. His engineering design experience has included stream restoration, wetland mitigation, stormwater management (SWM), and drainage design. He is proficient in hydrologic, hydraulic, sediment transport, watershed, and species distribution modeling, and geospatial analysis. He has extensive field experience performing stream geomorphic assessments and monitoring sediments, groundwater, nutrients, and water quality. As a field biologist, Steven has surveyed for herptiles, birds, mammals, terrestrial and aquatic invertebrates, plants, and endangered species. His university teaching experience has included landscape ecology, ornithology lab, and biology lab. His master's thesis focused on quantifying phosphorus dynamics in south Florida waterways, and for his Ph.D. in Biology he modeled dragonfly species distributions at the scale of individual river segments across the northeastern U.S.
