While serving as the VP of the Product Infrastructure Planning team at SES, I led innovation by developing and implementing new initiatives to enhance product offerings. I provided strategic direction to product owners, outlined platform technology lifecycle, managed portfolio processes, and developed capability roadmaps to meet business requirements. I also supervised budget planning and established automation and standardization practices. Additionally, I collaborated with key vendors including iDirect, Gilat, and Hughes. Some of my proudest achievements in this role include:* Orchestrated infrastructure development across 26 MEO and 43 GEO satellites, encompassing delivery platforms, teleports, and customer terminals.* Enhanced billing procedures by identifying cross-segment requirements and leading cross-functional teams to automate billing workflows, leading to the elimination of five manual touchpoints for 20+ customers monthly.* Designed and delivered multi-year program to phase out legacy satellite platforms, deploying end-of-life and end-of-support plans, ensuring successful customer retention and transitions, consolidating infrastructure, and generating over $5M in annual savings.

Throughout my tenure as the Manager and then VP of Services Delivery, I led the Services Delivery engineering team, managing business requirements and innovating new products. We deployed IP and video satellite delivery platforms, network management systems, and strategic customer services. Additionally, I oversaw the design, implementation, and administration of a global terrestrial MPLS network while providing high-level support to the sales team and our clients. Lastly, I secured major contracts with aeronautical service providers. This period was marked by the following career milestones:* Directed development team as Product Owner for multi-vessel capacity sharing system, boosting capacity efficiency and driving $19M in yearly revenue.* Mentored and formalized support structure within a six-person development team.* Partnered with SES government services team to ensure compliance with required security standards for ground segment facilities and Information Assurance processes.

Providing network and IT consultancy to improve and expand internal IT systems after rapid company growth. Define and implement internal IT security policy. Chief Technical Officer for Secure Network Systems Division, defining PKI and video encryption products and providing technical support for sales team.

Led services network and IT teams. Designed and implemented a fully resilient terrestrial IP network based around multiple Gigabit services, along with a dark fibre ring linking multiple points of presence.

Designed and setup a system for delivery of Business Television Channels to the desktop using a satellite based DVB multiplex and multicast technology. Researched and developed value added services including automatic indexing of multimedia streams, conditional access and encryption, content caching and file multicast.

Installed, implemented and developed an IP over satellite system, including the setup of multiple multicast video services, audio and file transfer applications and tier 1 Internet provision. Provided ongoing support to the operations area for Merlin’s DVB infrastructure, including ATM network, uplink and backhaul facilities.

Managed a team of engineers and operators. Central point of contact for all queries regarding BBC World Service global transmission and distribution. Main point of reference for senior technical staff at transmission sites both in the UK and overseas. Senior point of contact for technical queries from both customers and members of the public. Considerable experience working overseas, both throughout Europe and Asia, overseeing installation work, training local contractors and negotiating with new rebroadcasters on behalf of the BBC.
