I am a Director in the Financial Markets & Products group at Fieldfisher and sit across the financial regulatory and derivatives teams. I am based principally in the Manchester office but split my time with the London office.I am a specialist in financial markets regulation, with a focus on the regulation of securities and derivatives trading and financial markets infrastructure. I have a particular interest in commodities trading and I advise a number of the Category 1 members of the London Metal Exchange.I advise investment banks, broker-dealers, hedge funds, asset managers and corporates on a range of financial regulation matters, including: authorisation and perimeter issues, MiFID II / MiFIR, EMIR, SFTR, CSDR, MAR, Brexit issues, BMR and LIBOR discontinuance. More recently I have advised clients on cryptoasset regulation.In addition to advisory experience, I also have substantial experience advising on a broad range of derivative and structured finance transactions. In particular, I have experience of advising on finance-linked derivatives, balance guaranteed swaps, equity derivatives, structured repurchase transactions, stock lending, collateral management, direct electronic access, prime brokerage arrangements and clearing documentation.Prior to joining Fieldfisher I worked on a variety of other transactional matters including general bank finance, debt capital markets, and restructuring. I was also briefly an interest rate derivatives trader at a major US investment bank.
