Initially I focused on search engine optimized e-commerce solutions for small to medium-sized companies, delivering from design to support. Currently, I'm active as a solution architect, using my 20+ years of experience to advise and consult with the digitalization of business processes.

My role as solution architect for the FrontForce Emergency product evolved to product development manager, with the product as my single focus. I'm responsible for the delivery of the Emergency software solution. This software suite is currently used by 10 rescue zones in Belgium, serves Brussels Airport and is being implemented for our first Seveso customer.As the product owner of the FrontForce Emergency product I lead the development team and manage our feature backlog, all in close contact with our customers, the account managers and the product manager. One of the highlights of the year is our customer group "Connect", it brings together the most exciting parts of my job: customer contact, presentation and feature discussions.I enjoy coaching growing developers, trainees and young potentials with my technical background.

My job as a solution architect at FrontForce consisted of 2 major parts.My first objective was to expand the FrontForce Emergency product. This emergency solution for dispatching and alerting is used by, among others, the best fire and rescue zones in East Flanders and protects more than 1 million inhabitants there. Besides business analysis and technical architecture, I also participated in the product management process. Together with my colleagues, I determined the roadmap for the product. I managed the backlog and supervised the development team. I focused on ease of use and user experience.My second challenge was the support in presales activities by writing offers for both potential and existing customers, mainly in the public sector but not limited to fire brigades. Here, understanding the needs of these companies was extremely important.My training as an Experience Architect gave me a new perspective on service design and the possibilities of design sprints to develop new products and services iteratively but quickly. Placing the user in the center is not only useful in the development of a product, but it is indispensable for designing solutions for the digitization of the business processes of our future customers.

After more than 2,5 years, I resumed my job as a solution architect at Ferranti Computer Systems.Technically reinforcing FrontForce Emergency was my initial goal. At that point, only professional fire brigades were using the software product. The introduction of the zonal operation of fire brigades in 2015 gave the opportunity to further expand the software with the necessary functionalities for volunteer firefighters. I designed the complex availability module that alerts the optimal firefighter for each required function. A module that still plays a crucial role in the application.As an architect, I also participated in the development of a new dynamic passenger information system for the Dutch public transport. DRIS 2.0 delivers real-time bus information to displays in the field.My job as a solution architect expanded with presales activities and technical advisory, focusing on UI & UX for the whole business unit. I took up the role of technical lead for the FrontForce Emergency development team and started participating in product management.In the summer of 2018, the System Integration business unit was rebranded and given more autonomy with FrontForce as its new name. In 2020 FrontForce became a separate legal entity under the wings of Ferranti Computer Systems.

As a member of the product development team of the financial software solution Summix (former Financial Studio), I took up the responsibility in software projects and guided these from a planning, progress, reporting and communication perspective while participating in the development process.

My responsibilities included software & database architecture while participating in the development process. I focused on performance optimization for major database migration projects. As a .NET specialist I coached developers as an internal .NET evangalist.The functional areas I touched include the energy market (supplier and grid operator), public transport (dynamic travel information) and tourist information.
