Steven is a dedicated, future-focused professional with over 18 years of experience in the financial services and construction industries. He has a proven track record of leading significant projects for a diverse range of clients, including government ministries, educational institutions, construction companies, financial service providers, and non-profits.For the past two years, Steven has spearheaded the Quality and Assurance function of the Rau Paenga Project Support Office (PSO). In this role, he has developed new processes and enhanced existing controls to ensure infrastructure projects are managed according to organisational policies and standards. Steven oversees the Management Plans which set the standards for all aspects of project management, including scheduling, budget and cost, risks and issues, baseline management, quality and assurance, benefit management, and reporting.Steven's recent notable achievements include developing a comprehensive 'health check' framework based on P3M3, successfully delivering it for a client's infrastructure programme. He has also created the company's Post-Implementation Review framework, Project Quality Achievement Assessment framework, in-house assurance and review processes, a Lessons Learned knowledge base, and an internal process review framework to assess maturity and identify improvement initiatives within the PSO.In addition to his core role, Steven supports business units by engaging with clients to develop PSO services, contributing to Project Management Plans, developing internal resource modelling, and serving as a key advisor within the company.Prior to his current role, Steven led the financial management, change control management, and benefits management advice for Christchurch central city Anchor Projects. These construction projects ranged from $10m to $450m. He also monitored the financial aspects of the New Zealand Government’s contributions to 19 'Shovel-Ready' projects in Canterbury.During his 13 years at Deloitte, Steven honed his financial acumen and collaborative working style. He delivered financial and strategic advisory services, financial modelling and analysis, benefits management, financial reporting, operational services, strategic and risk management planning, due diligence, forensic accounting, and process development and review. He also led the analysis and production of the quarterly Deloitte South Island Index publication and the annual Deloitte State of the Unions – Rugby Report, providing analysis, commentary, and strategic recommendations.
