As part of this role, I managed the development of and move into a new, larger facility. The launch involved the creation of a marketing plan and materials to promote the new facility to patients, doctors and medical facilities within the service area. As a result, we were able to realize a 50% increase in patient activity within 6 months of the facility’s opening. I developed a process to track and monitor patient data to identify demographic, referral and other patient trends. I also worked with the facility’s office staff to develop a streamlined procedure to document and report patient billing to the corporate office.

Business AnalystBucknell Small Business Development Center 1998 - 2002I worked with and counseled hundreds of area entrepreneurs to evaluate, start and expand a variety of new and existing businesses, products and services. I worked with businesses in industries ranging from retail storefronts, to new manufacturing facilities and even new technologies to obtain millions of dollars of funding and create hundreds of jobs. In the case of one new technology firm, I was able to help them apply for and receive the Governor’s Award for Environmental Excellence.Working with the Asst. Director of Product Development at the center, I co-developed a “Stage-Gate” product development process which allowed for a much more efficient and effective allocation of the center’s resources and improved the benefit to the clients. This “Stage-Gate” process received a state SBDC award for innovation and was the subject of several presentations at national ASBDC conferences. I also developed a 3-year structured internship program for Bucknell undergrad students to participate in the consulting process with increasing levels of responsibility. This program gave the students real world business exposure and provided valuable experience for their job search after graduation.I represented the center on the Union County Chamber of Commerce’s Agriculture Marketing Committee and also served on the marketing committee for the county’s Great Stream Commons Industrial Park.
