CEO and founder of a local brewpub, employing 8 people and creating half a million in revenue over 22 months of operation. As the sole founder I created the concept and business plan, secured financing, navigated the complicated city, state and federal alcohol permitting process, designed and supervised the construction, ordered and installed all equipment, hired and trained all personnel, created checklists and SOPs to ensure continuity. As a result, the daily operation of the business ran mostly on it’s own within 8 months. As the CFO I managed all aspects of the business finance from accounting to payroll; Identified areas to improve and made changes resulting in a reduction in cost of food. As the COO I streamlined the entire brewing process, from ordering raw material, to distributing the end product, resulting in maximizing the production of beer on the current system within the first 8 months. As head brewer/ quality control manager I created recipes, brewed them, and taught my assistant brewers how to brew, resulting in multiple beers winning regional awards for quality and flavor. As CTO I created and maintain the website as well as supervise all aspects of our social media presence. As head of marketing I created and managed multiple different modes of advertising, and assessed their effectiveness, resulting in maximization of the minimal advertising budget.
  • Special Operations Command North
Founding Member, Special Operations Command North
Special Operations Command North Sep 2012 - Sep 2014
    Colorado Springs, Colorado Area
Hired as an "intra-preneur" to create a new 200 person organization from a 35 person organization within US Northern Command. Created oral and written briefs on a weekly basis, to inform decisions of Congress, US Special Operations Command (SOCOM), and NORTHCOM which convinced congress to authorize Special Operations Command North (SOCNORTH). SOCNORTHs mission is to provide Special Operations assistance in Homeland Defense. Helped maintain strong inter-agency alliances between the Canadian Military, Federal Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, the Department of Homeland Security, and Customs and Border Protection. Directly involved with creating the organizational chart, required equipment list, hiring initial employees, and establishing budgets. Secured a temporary location and oversaw $20 million of building renovation, to include supervising multiple different military contractors. As a result, the rapidly growing entity was able to immediately occupy office space, rather than waiting to expand. Began the military construction process to build a multi-million dollar new building that will properly accommodate SOCNORTH's international mission. Worked closely with the US Army Corps of Engineers to draw blueprints, using a design build process. As a result, in a year and a half, SOCNORTH tripled in size and became a multi million dollar, stand-alone organization, with international scope and reach.
