Current- Managed the Design Center, leading a group of engineers to provide preliminary and final design support to project managers and construction staff. Served as a primary resource for design-related questions about Geopier ground improvement solutions.- Accelerated company growth (20% average annual growth rate and 200%+ increase in annual sales between 2017 and 2021) by establishing a structured approach to design that produces consistent and repeatable results and providing robust training and mentorship for new hires.- Increased design capacity over the first two years (+110% design submittals and +178% total volume of work completed) by identifying workflow inefficiencies, implementing standard practices, and building checklists and design templates.- Improved the project sales process by developing a comprehensive project evaluation system and preparing detailed/innovative preliminary designs that help project managers win more projects.- Improved company synergy and collaboration by developing the Design Center into a centralized hub, providing design and construction support to project managers and construction personnel through all stages of a project.- Made Helical more competitive in the market by enabling rigid inclusion slab support. Led the development of a design method using finite element analysis via Plaxis 2D and RAM Elements.- Boosted company scalability by streamlining the design process. Developed complex/adaptable spreadsheets in Microsoft Excel enhanced with VBA coding. Incorporated the use of various geotechnical design software such as Settle3 and Slide2.- Developed new standards and training to provide design support for non-ground improvement techniques (micropiles, helical piles, DIPs), allowing project managers to have a greater focus on sales.- Streamlined the preparation of preliminary layouts, submittal drawings, and installation tracking by converting paper-based systems to a computerized system utilizing AutoCAD 2D.
