Teaching ArtistBarr Foundation Mar 2013 - Sep 2014Boston, MaAs part of the Culture for Change program, Steven assumed the role of educator, artist, and activist. He worked with a group of 10-12 high school students to produce installations for Boston Asian: Youth Essential Service. Following an artist's process of ideas, research, trial & error, and execution, during the spring of 2013, the group and he created a large twenty-four foot "dragon" with a theme of empowering beyond racism. Y.E.S. and Steven presented the piece to the community at large with a formal opening night in late-June. Culture for Change was initially sponsored by both the Boston Foundation and Barr Foundation, but became an official Barr project as of June '13. -
