Secured market access for U.S. carriers on an ongoing basis by resolving complex regulatory challenges and urgent operational issues in all aspects of airline operations, including: scheduled and charter service permissions, code sharing, slot controls, access to ground services, compliance with international safety and security standards, aircraft leasing and financial controls/sanctions.Participated on the team that significantly expanded U.S. carrier access to Russian Federation overflight routes - including Cross Polar routes – working with carriers to document and track operational and commercial requirements for non-stop passenger and cargo flights between the United States and Asia, the Indian Subcontinent and the Middle East. Won the Secretary's Award for Excellence for my performance on the task force that carried out the $5 billion program to stabilize the U.S. aviation industry following the attacks of September 11, 2001. Served as DOT liaison for carriers under the program and personally audited and approved over 100 applications in amounts ranging from $1,000 to over $500,000,000.
