When did you find your North Star? I was just a bit over 3 years old when I first experienced two of my great passions. On a warm, late summer evening, I sat in the passenger seat of my dad's new Mercedes-Benz as the delivery manager handed him the keys. I looked up at my dad and saw his beaming smile and a tear in his eye as he enjoyed that special moment. This wasn't just a car to him, it was a symbol of hard work, sacrifice, and achievement. Just 20 years earlier her arrived in North America as a poor immigrant with his trade skills as an upholsterer and just enough money to get back home if he changed his mind. Without much of an English vocabulary, or a network of people he made smart choices, worked hard, and beat the odds. He achieved his version of the American dream. At 3 years old, I didn't know my father's backstory. However, at that age I could understand emotions and feelings. My memories of that day galvanized my love of cars, and also my appreciation of human emotions, and the power of brands to become part of our lives. This North Star led me to a career in business and marketing where I have applied my empathic personality to drive business in ways that connect with people at a deep level.
