CurrentSteve is an accomplished cyber security and software engineering executive, designing and implementing impactful enterprise applications and development teams which provide a competitive advantage for his clients. He has held Board positions for a number of hi-tech startup companies and continues to provide advisory services to Boards of Directors. He has performed due-diligence on over 150 companies for the purposes of venture equity investments. He has also provided expert witness testimony for several legal disputes. And Steve has delivered briefings to multiple U.S. Congressional committees.While leading software development organizations ranging from 4 to 600+ engineers, he is applying his extensive knowledge of advanced software engineering, cyber security, mobile technologies, and enterprise applications to a variety of clients including finance, healthcare, pharmaceutical, commerce, law enforcement, intelligence, military, judicial, and treasury applications.Prior to joining Phenomenati, Steve was the Executive Director of MITRE Corporation’s Software Engineering Innovation Center, which is the U.S. Federal Govt’s largest FFRDC-related organization dedicated to the advancement of the field of software engineering and implementation of cyber-related capabilities. Additionally, Steve has decades of experience in the commercial software and cyber security markets, co-founding multiple companies such as OpenVision Technologies, which today is part of Symantec, where Steve pioneered the industry’s first secured backup solution (NetBackup) and brought to market the first commercialized version of Kerberos and the General Security Services API (that is now part of every commercial and open-source operating system). While working in industry for companies including Oracle Corporation, Steve applied cyber security mitigation strategies and agile development methodologies to the design of financial applications and industrial control systems.
