My role overseas the technical services provided by DIS Consultancy including project management and assurance. I also provide several technical roles for Materials in Defence, Novel Materials and Testing, and Material Selection and Characterisation. I work closely with government, primes, academia and our established eco system of Small Medium Enterprise (SME) and Suitably Qualified and Experienced Personal (SQEP) to deliver tailored and appropriate solutions supporting all phases of the project lifecycle and maturity of programme.

I have been contributing within NATO Science Technology Organisation on a number of activities including co chairing exploratory teams, working groups and capability technology demonstrators. I have also supported as a core member on activities including lecture series and specialist workshops. Technical areas include Materials in Defence, Novel Materials, Munition Health Management, Material Testing and Modelling, Materials Selection and Characterisation. Recognition for activities includes the NATO STO Scientific Award.

My role involved the development and growth of business areas, providing insights into government and industry sectors, and overseeing business development opportunities. I was the technical lead for clients on projects providing independent assurance, guidance, best practice and consultancy services across several areas including Materials Technology and Research, Safety Environment Sustainability and Materials, Materials in Defence, and Weapons Assurance.

I provided consultancy across a range of material related topics in industry, defence and space. Liaising and supporting a number of core clients including NATO, MOD UK and Industry Partners. I offered a collaborate approach across a portfolio of partners and support fundamental research working with both academia and within research frameworks. Material Technology consists of a number of consulting services, digital products and be-spoke system engineering solutions. Material Research supported a number of next generation and generation after next initiatives and needs.

I enjoyed six years as a Principal Consultant. I developed analytical techniques and services, manage people, win business, and providing technical and project support across a number number of clients across government, industry and academia. I worked across different groups and technical areas and aligned to business aspirations, objectives and culture.

The role included interfacing across a wide portfolio of defence clients to understand their technical and commercial requirements. Clients include NATO, Government, MOD DE&S, Dstl and industry partners. I chair and sit as a core member on a number of international and national defence working groups and expert panels including research frameworks. Services that I have help embed during this role included: • Corrosion Management; • Materials Management; • Munitions Health Management; • Asset Management; • Digital Solutions; and • Material Research for Defence.

Earlier in my career I gained a solid educational grounding by gaining Bachelor and Master Degrees in Physics and Material Technology and a PhD in Material Analysis at Bristol University. I subsequently enjoyed 10 years at the Advanced Technology Centre the corporate Research Centre for BAE SYSTEMS. The role included material technology R&D and consultancy to support immediate, medium and long term aspirations to BAE SYSTEMS Land, Sea and Air divisions.
