Steven has been with Public Citizens for Children and Youth (PCCY), since January 1995 where he, and his job, have evolved significantly over the years. Originally hired part-time to do desktop publishing, he has progressively taken on more responsibilities and now holds the full-time position of Information Technology and Events Coordinator. Steven is responsible for the planning, coordination and implementation of PCCY’s special events including a yearly fundraiser, “The Super Party,” an event honoring the work of children and child advocates from across our region. Drawing over 400 people each year, the party is also evolving from cocktails, hors d’ourves and speeches to a dinner and silent auction that showcases performances of children’s groups. He coordinates with off-site facility and catering staff, collaborating with designers on developing invitation package and with a committee to gather names for invitation list, auction items and volunteer assignments.He is also responsible for all aspects of production of PCCY’s publications, including desktop publishing, layout, and design of our quarterly newsletters, annual reports, special reports and organizational brochures and flyers. As the point person for PCCY’s office and web-based technology, Steven is responsible for upgrading and maintaining the office network, all workstations and all office equipment. Furthermore, he is responsible for designing and updating PCCY’s website which includes tracking and monitoring of online contributions, special requests for services, publications and information about after-school and child care programs. He also continues to oversee the maintenance of a 6,500-member database of child advocates and advocacy organizations. Steven is an active volunteer for Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation and an Executive Board Member of the Penn State Extension.
