Assisted in the design of highways and the development of design and construction plans. The responsibilities for this position were numerous and included the management of CAD staff to complete work, as well as the following: preparation of geometric layouts, profiles, cross sections, grading designs, drainage calculations, preliminary and construction plans, and quantity/cost estimates. Designed and developed drawings and maps detailing work to be performed and infrastructure to be added to the current telephone and fiber lines. Field visits to gather information were regularly taken. Communication and cooperation with the managers of different regions and the contractors performing the work was also a necessary aspect of the position.

Modeled several watersheds located in South Florida to complete FEMA flood studies. This included inputting wetlands, water conservation areas, canals and streams, and complex water control structures. The models were calibrated by adjusting and manipulating certain variables and then validated with historic rainfall and elevation data.Assisted in the mapping of the watersheds and floodplains using ArcGIS.
