At Escalon, I served key clients in the SaaS software space and the nonprofit vertical in this outsourced finance and accounting firm engaging emerging growth businesses from prefunding to Series C financing. I expertly led a complete finance and operational transformation, taking a cash strapped company from a $3M to a $15M balance sheet, in a role supporting the President of the company. I strategically focused on digital transformation and the creation and maintenance of success metrics to provide benefits and long-term outcomes. I also partnered with the client CEO, creating the business model and executive presentation leading to $20M Series B equity financing at an 11x multiple. On another effort, I led the ERP and HR system implementations with no disruption to the operations or the financial audit processes. Lastly, I built and presented multi-year financial plans and annual budgets aligned to specific strategic initiatives and the company vision.

As VP of Finance, I focused on the fit, emphasizing the alignment of mindset, goals and direction. I advocated for a shared compromise and understanding of value propositions to gain buy in. I also leveraged due diligence as well as both internal and external research and analysis of people and potential contributions, pursuing the right culture fit, the right people and the right roles, effectively creating a holistic effort towards success. In specifics, I was responsible for all financial aspects of the business including strategic planning, financial planning and analysis, forecasting, management, and BOD reporting.

During these three years, I led as a corporate officer in this $400M organization, providing financial leadership while managing the Global Accounting and Finance organization. I executed the end-to-end financial portfolio. I also supported all strategic transactions, including M&A and corporate investments. In more detail, I provided the financial tools for key executives to meet and exceed strategic and financial goals. Notably, I directed digital enablement projects and reduced the close cycle by a week. I improved margins 5% by renegotiating vendor contracts, enabling quick wins and growth. I also promoted key talent through the ranks in the organization. Externally, I partnered in effective dealings with honor partners and banks, understanding the dynamics of a public company board. I prepared finance reports for Board of Directors meetings and facilitated audit committee meetings with an initial entree into a board and as an audit committee member. In addition, I managed all external accounting and regulatory constituents (audit, tax, insurance, banking, etc.). On another note, I enhanced our insurance policy, resulting in $10M more coverage at a 10% cost reduction. Regarding M&A, I performed as the executive integration lead for the acquisition of Update Logic Inc., including all due diligence, managing due diligence and also addressed buy-side during the successful acquisition of SIMG by LSCC at a 45% premium. I also negotiated strategic investment in business segment by large multi-national company ($100M valuation). Regarding controls, I oversaw both internal and external reporting protocols, SOX compliance and Internal Controls. Last, but of key note to my abilities, I upgraded financial reporting tools enabling the creation of a new corporate dashboard for increased transparency and visibility, resulting in 20% productivity gains.
