Can I go to the bathroom? What time does class end? Can I borrow a pencil? I don't understand?!?A little confused? Let me explain. I am an education professional with a passion for all aspects of STEM education. As I was growing up, my passion for science and mathematics lead me to studying for a career in engineering. Throughout my time in the world of engineering I always found myself saying, "Oh man, I wish someone would have taught me this when I was a kid!" Just like that my path to STEM education was born. Over the last 15 years I have taught, designed and developed STEM courses and instructional materials for diverse student populations. I have empowered students in connecting them with STEM fields of study and introduced them to the power of collaboration, communication and working in teams. During this time I may also have answered the above questions in my own unique ways close to a million times.I feel that a STEM education is essential for the growing needs of our society but should not be limited to within the walls of classrooms for our youth but must expand to our communities and be inclusive for all. My goal is to utilize my experience in STEM education in a curriculum management/development, technology, instructional design or engineering position. I think the best sense of accomplishment in the work I have done is the fact that every single time I have left a job to pursue a new ambition I have always been told that there would always be a spot for me there if I ever wanted to return.
