Steven is a highly experienced partner in our Company Commercial group, specialising in mergers and acquisitions (M&A), listed company transactions and private equity, and has a broad range of experience acting for corporate clients on domestic and global transactions.He has been helping clients since qualification in 2002 and became a partner in the firm in 2014. Steven works for clients across a number of sectors, with particularly strong experience in the health and life sciences sector, where he leads firm's M&A health and life sciences practice in the UK. He also frequently represents clients in the consumer, industrials, TMT and financial services sectorsSteven has presented on many topics to hundreds of clients, including in relation to rules and regulations applicable to listed companies, M&A trends and market norms, and with the Quoted Companies Alliance on the achievement of corporate efficiencies.Steven has acted on a number of strategic transactions for his clients.Equity capital markets transactions:• acting on the Main Market IPO of a consumer business, valuing the business at £150mn• acting for management on the £1 billion Official List flotation of a TMT business• acting on a recommended takeover of a financial services business by way of scheme of arrangement valued at £230mnSteven's M&A experience includes:• acting for founder shareholders on the divestment of a consumer-focused health business and subsequent reinvestment into the buyer, in the largest deal in the sector in the UK• acting on the cross-jurisdictional elements of a $500mn asset swap• acting on the acquisition of strategic healthcare-related assets in the UK in response to the COVID-19 pandemic on transactions valued in excess of £400mn
