Due to my success with Universal Animation’s AnimeNEXT video game department (above), Otakorp pursued me to lead my team and take over the video game department at their show, Otakon, the second largest Japanese pop culture convention in the United States. Duties similar to above, but on a larger scale. In June 2012 Otakorp sent me to Los Angeles to attend E3, the largest video game industry trade show, on their behalf.

Revamped and grew video game department from a single meeting room to taking up an entire hotel’s meeting space. Supervised a team of 23 volunteers and managed every facet of pre-convention, at-convention, and post-convention duties relating to the video game department. While running the department I volunteered to revamp our web presence, moving our website from Drupal to Wordpress with a customized theme; established and built a Facebook presence with over 6,000 “likes” within 6 months; established and edited video for event YouTube channel. Was voted onto the corporation’s board of directors in 2011.

Started my own business building hand-crafted, arcade-accurate replications of video arcade game controllers for home use to a world-wide customer base. Performed various tasks including manufacturing, purchasing, marketing, customer service. Represented my brand at events and trade shows, including selling product to customers. Provided technical support and customer relations via email and telephone. Skills I developed through this position included sole creation, development & fabrication of products, circuit design & soldering.

Conceptualized, designed & wrote a PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript based form with a robust administrative backend, which enabled the form to instantly compute and graph information received, instead of the 6+ month process that existed before my application. Assisted faculty one-on-one. Wrote clear and concise documentation; produced 5-10 minute videos for promotional use at conferences.
