I am involved in all processes apart from welding to make stock material into the final product. This includes cutting, machining CAD/CAM, sandblasting and painting. This job has taught me that products need to be designed with manufacturing in mind to keep costs down and production rates high.

During this internship I: - contributed to the operation, repair and maintenance of medical devices, - lead and managed design work, including the complete design and fabrication of a medical air and oxygen trolley for use in the PICU and NICU wards. - spent some time in the research department, learning about the current projects, the researcher's collaboration with other departments and the presentation of findings. - learnt about WHS, Quality systems and management skills including the documentation of the department's MSDS', Safe Work Practice forms and an internal audit.

This included tasks related to hygiene, skin care, mobility, eating, linen changes, waste disposal, cleaning and communication.Administered medication.Completed paperwork such as progress notes; handover reports; blood glucose, weight and wound management charts; and O2 cylinder logs.
