Hey! My name is Steven J. Brice. For over 10 years, I have been living with this personal, evolving purpose statement: To be liberated and to liberate for a better social world. There are a number of different ways in which I am living out my purpose: I am the Founder and President of Yoga 4 Philly, 501c3. Yoga 4 Philly exists to make peace, love, and healing accessible to everyone through yoga and meditation. Through our mission, we provide donation-based yoga and meditation classes throughout Philadelphia County in schools, senior centers, and group homes. We also have a specific presence in Kensington - an area of Philly impacted by poverty, drug abuse, sex trafficking, and, therefore, a community that suffers from immense trauma and high instances of PTSD.I am the owner and CEO of Brice Enterprise LLC, which is a hub for different business and investment ventures such as a real estate investment company, racial reconciliation consulting services, and more. I am the Founder and Director of The Gathering. The Gathering is an inter-people initiative. No matter who you are or what your worldview looks like, you’re welcome here. The Gathering is a community of people from all walks of life working to reimagine socialization and human connection in a world that is so easily divided. I am a public speaker and preacher, teaching and presenting in areas such as race relations, entrepreneurship, and theology. Other notable contributions: A member of the Police Department Advisory Committee for my neighborhood, where I am a liaison between the local community and the Police Department, working towards unity between the two communities. An organizer for the Philadelphia Community Bail Fund, where we are actively bailing people out of jail and working to put an end to the cash bail system.A general member and a part of the teaching team for The Table Philly, a church of communities who embody and extend the love of God to others in Philadelphia and throughout the metro area.Could your colleagues and community benefit from yoga and meditation?
