I am a single father with custody of my son, well, at this point as much custody as any parent with a 19 year old child. Over his lifetime I have done several different things to make sure he has what is needed and now that he is off to college I am trying to move into what makes me happy (photography and leather work). This transition is difficult as he is going to Southern Methodist University so I need to make sure to keep a steady income to try and help him with expenses as going to a private college isn't the least expensive thing in the world.When I was 15 years old I bought my first 35mm camera and my sister had a darkroom setup in the house. I learned how to develop my own film and prints over that next year with her help and working with the school yearbook and I've been shooting ever since though I never decided to display anything until more recently and I do only display my more current works. I do still have a working wet darkroom with 2 enlargers and I hope to get back into it to do some more work, but life keeps me busy.I've taught myself all my leather working skills. I started as a Scoutmaster for my son's troop and have continue to hone the skills beyond what scouting required. Much of this I have done by reading books written by Al Stohlman, a master leather worker who literally developed the tools and wrote the books on it.Specialties: Prints on polycarbonate, aluminum, brass, copper and leather.Landscape and other nature photography.Handmade leather goods.
