I work at the intersection of policy analysis, government relations, public affairs strategy, and law, serving businesses, non-profits, and political organizations at a national level. Examples of subject matter experience include anti-terrorism policy, foreign sovereign immunity, antitrust and competition policy, patent reform, civil rights, property rights, civil asset forfeiture, immigration and border security, Native Hawaiian recognition, and laws relating to Indian tribes. Of note, was the primary legislative advocate for the Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act (JASTA) for nearly seven years, representing commercial interests seeking to ensure proper accountability for terrorist attacks, including for September 11. In 2016, Congress enacted JASTA over President Obama's veto -- the only veto override of his presidency. I also serve as Vice President for Policy at Crossroads GPS and One Nation, two of the nation's premier 501(c)(4) social welfare advocacy organizations, where I guide special projects and provide confidential counsel regarding policy development in the Washington community.
