Recently, I was called a "Chief Belief Officer" by a close client of mine.It was one of the most meaningful compliments I have ever received. Not only did it confirm what I had hoped my clients felt when we worked together, it also brought clarity to the feelings I experience doing the work I do.I realized:• I need to believe the client I'm serving has something positive to contribute to the world.• I need to believe I have something positive to contribute to my client.• I want my clients to believe they have the ability to lead their business forward. They have what it takes. They have the knowledge. I'm there to compliment it and guide them to a new place.• My client and I need to believe we can accomplish anything we are willing to work hard for. I'm there for them, all the way.• Above all else, I want to help manifest the ideas behind believable brands that people can stand behind and trust.Though I felt complimented, it took me a while to embrace the "believer" in me the way my client had expressed. It had always felt more natural to lean on the slightly more aggressive approach to talking about what I do as a strategist and designer (E.g. being super competitive). "Chief Belief Officer" released something in me that I had been ignoring but that still had ways of showing up. I love to uncover and celebrate the capabilities of people I get to work with and the brands they want to build. For me, belief is about optimism, energy, empathy and extending myself to bridge the divide between what people think they can do and what I KNOW they can.How can a foundation of belief help you, your business and your brand?
