My professional expertise is plant ecology with a focus on plant community ecology. I started my career with a Student Conservation Association internship at Olympic National Park; then worked at Mount Rainier National Park. I served for many years as a Botanist / Ecologist with Wenatchee River Ranger District on Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest. In recent years (through grants and contracts with USDA Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, National Park Service, and others) I conducted studies regarding the description, distribution, and conservation status of plant communities and ecosystems in Idaho while serving as Plant Research Ecologist, then Plant Ecology Staff Biologist for Idaho Department of Fish and Game in Boise. I currently have a professional consulting practice in ecological assessment services. I hold bachelors degrees in environmental studies and botany from The Evergreen State College and University of Washington, respectively, and earned a Master’s degree in forest resources from School of Environmental and Forest Science, University of Washington.
