• Developed and implemented vision and program design for an international academic, government, and industrial research, innovation and economic advancement collaborative. The collaborative held three think tanks yielding a science & technology policy framework, international strategic research and economic advancement initiatives, and knowledge and technology transfer opportunities creating new market opportunities for all stakeholders. The collaborative included The University Presidents’ Council (BC’s TUPC), BC’s Ministry of Economic Development, State of California and UCLA’s Office of Research. The collaborative addressed key technology themes including digital technology (urban sensing), life sciences (infectious disease), Asia-Pacific (goods movement and smart infrastructure), and power technology (alternative energy, intelligent transportation). • Led to the creation of the Canada-California Strategic Innovation Partnership (CCSIP). In February 2008, assisted in the design and implementation, at the University of California Santa Barbara, of an international conference in emerging energy technologies featuring China and Canada.
