A leader can never be satisfied until his/her people are happy. I try to see what causes the most grief within my tribe and eradicate it. The core responsibility is to protect the Tribe and its sovereignty from external threats, but also internal individuality. As a Tribal leader my decision rights have an impact that propagates throughout Indian Country; thus, I am a decision-maker. How well I make decisions dictates how well I lead. At times, my decisions need to be swift, while some decisions are gifted the luxury of deliberation and introspection but ultimately I must be decisive. I make quality decisions by knowing my values and caring for my mind, body, and spirit through daily self-care. How dare I lead a tribe if my house is not in order. Empathy typically extends no more than three generations, so I force myself to see beyond the century; however, it is not necessarily how many moves I can see ahead of me, but how well I make the next move that truly counts. I am the ship that has the strength, desire, and capacity for others to perpetually seek unfamiliarity because change is the only constant in life. Through sound planning, a road map to success is provided, yet it is the continuous practice of organizing, prioritizing, and executing projects that move the needle. It is the ultimate collaboration of the tribe that brings results, yet the Council must provide the direction by articulating a clear vision of the future where everyone believes in the mission. The common denominator to all contributing factors of success is belief. We must believe in our leadership and forge a future together that elevates us all!

Launched a vending business that offers a variety of entertainment equipment to bars and restaurants in the Southern California region. We provide state of the art digital internet jukeboxes that allow the customer to hear what they want to hear when they want to hear it. Additionally, we provide pool tables and other sources of entertainment.

Designing an outdoor program involves a complexity of components. I established a business plan integrating business model canvas to help guide and bring Native Adventures to fruition. The 40-page policy and procedure manual built, is to ensure proper safety and guidance while in the field. Creating the website, social media, and print content involved radical imagination, creativity, and proper identification of brand awareness to successfully articulate the company’s mission. The communication to establish partnerships and meaningful relationships involve transparency and trust and reciprocity.

Oversaw the business portfolio and implemented strategies. Simba’s portfolio consisted of real estate, telecommunications, tourism, agriculture, education, and energy. Overall, I executed the following, trained the staff with Agile philosophy and the SCRUM framework, designed a business model that bridged education and agriculture to certify and uplift rural women with the desire to enhance or create a farming business, augmented the organizational structure, bridged business tycoons and diplomats.

Developing entrepreneurship and business curriculum in a progressive educational format. Integrating the business model canvas, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, and personal business experiences to outstanding highly calibrated Drake students. Collaborating with local businesses, colleges, venture capitalist to give the student the maximum potential to succeed. More importantly, advancing the students on three facets: intrapersonal, interpersonal, and business technicality.

Collaborating with the Principal International team, I have gained a deeper understanding of internal financial controls, financial reporting, and project management work.

Working with Outdoor Pursuits as a Student Outdoor Leader demanded integrity, confidence, and communication skills. We were trained to prepare, facilitate, and create positive environments for participants desiring to get outdoors. The nature of our work inherently developed my tolerance for adversity and uncertainty, which is applicable to many work environments.
