About Steven Lee

As a Senior Operations Planning Analyst at DEFTEC Corporation, I provide data analytics support to U.S., Allied, and Coalition Forces to counter the emerging and evolving threats posed by small unmanned aircraft systems (sUAS) globally. With 30 years of experience in leading large and diverse organizations, I have developed extensive expertise in strategic plans and policy development and implementation, Navy, joint, and combined operations planning, and political-military affairs, especially in the Asia-Pacific region. In my current role, I find the operating trends, patterns, and anomalies of sUAS activities over time and space, enhancing the friendly forces’ ability to discriminate sUAS activities and enabling them to take appropriate force protection and mission assurance measures to counter localized sUAS threats. I also develop and refine data analytics support methodologies that allow the forces to identify, characterize, and prioritize sUAS threats and vulnerabilities, and to assess the effectiveness of C-sUAS capabilities and tactics. My mission is to enable the forces to understand and mitigate the security risks posed by sUAS threats to bases, units, and elements globally, and to advance U.S. defense and security interests effectively.
