We started a process of changing the overall approach and image of the RBFA. The aim was to turn the largest sports organisation in Belgium into a vibrant company that leads the way, focusses on its customers, invests in the future...both at base level (growth) and at the top (winning)In the first instance we listened to a vast group of stakeholders in Belgian football. Based upon this exercise we developed a long term vision for Belgian football with specific targets for the amateur and professional game. Over a period of almost four year one can observe strong progress on all fronts.At the pinnacle is the national mens team (the Belgian Red Devils). They have united the nation and made Belgians proud again.The national football centre will be finalised by the end of 2015 to become the home of Belgian football.The whole organisation went through a fundamental revamp and a fundamental digitalisation approach.More people are playing nowadays football in Belgium than ever before, including more women.Belgium has also been elected to host another big event in Brussels, the Euro 2020 in a newly to be built state of the art football stadium.

I worked alongside CEO Roger Draper in changing the culture and image of the LTA. My focus was on developing a long term plan for success in all sportsrelated matters (talent ID, high performance, competitions, coaching,...)

In my role as technical director Belgian Tennis was going through its top period by the likes of Henin and Clijsters at the top of the Women's gameMy focus was especially on providing the clubs with a suitable program (KIDSTENNIS) to cope with the big increase of young players coming into the game at that time

Togehter with the technical director Ivo Van Aken we worked on shaping Belgian tennis from the bottom to the top and to make it a strong player on the international sceneAs Head Coach I was responsible for upgrading our best coaches and worked with all our international players and teams that were using the centre as their training base

The team consisted of S Appelmans, D Monami, L Courtois, E Callens, N Feber ; J Henin entered the team as a rookie...We reached the semi finals in 1997The ITF nominated me fair play coach of that year for the sporting way in which I lead the team and interacted with the fans.
