Company desired absolute secrecy to develop next generation thermal process for high margin meals. Recruited by the executive VP to join a cross functional team at a classified location to investigate and validate said process. • Designed & documented offsite temperature controlled pilot facility. • Developed a process to test the dielectric properties of foods up to 90ºC

Continued higher than expected returns prompted the senior leadership team to question if our testing methodology was adequate. • Developed and implemented a distribution system monitoring network that validated that our level of testing was adequate and revealed the root cause of the damage that we were experiencing and allowed us to address the problem. • Success on that project led to Tomato operations asking if the same methodology could be applied to damage being experienced during tomato harvest. The results were the same, root causes were identified and addressed resulting in a 20% damage reduction of product.

Company consolidated the Irvine, Edina and Milton facilities into the Omaha world headquarters in 2006 and desired to keep the best product and package testing capabilities from all three locations. Primary obstacle was available space. • Eliminated duplicate processes & equipment. • Outsourced rarely used procedures & experiments. • Co-sponsored and validated the International Safe Transit Association’s (ISTA) 6- Sam’s club distribution simulation protocol.

Hired to bring my previous aerospace packaging and product testing experience to the packaged foods industry. Researched and established a start of the art physical properties and distribution simulation laboratory to the Irvine facility. • Managed a $6M budget that covered construction and outfitting the labs. • Obtained ISTA certified laboratory status “ST-4594”. • Collaborated with Purchasing to establish a stretch wrap standard specification.
