At CDK Global, I led a team of 10 product designers across three key business units—Shared Services, Data & Analytics, and Advertising—covering a portfolio of over a dozen products and services. Within Shared Services, I spearheaded the creation of one of the automotive industry's most comprehensive design systems, designed to support CDK’s portfolio of 100+ products across more than 100 countries. This system encompassed an icon font, design library packs for Sketch and Axure, an online style guide, and React-based components, driving efficiency, consistency, and scalability across the organization.

At Pearson's K12 Learning Services division, I led a team of 4 UX designers and 2 UX contractors in transforming educational content for the digital age. Our projects spanned the design and digital adaptation of printed learning materials, as well as the creation of engaging learning management systems and e-readers optimized for mobile and desktop platforms across all major operating systems. My team’s work played a crucial role in advancing Pearson’s digital offerings to enhance user engagement and streamline learning experiences for K12 students and educators.

As a Senior UI/UX Developer for the B2B e-commerce platform FirstCallOnline.com, a high-revenue site generating $1.3 million daily, I leveraged my expertise in user experience design and front-end development to drive user-centered enhancements. Collaborating with a talented cross-functional team, I applied a research-driven approach to optimize the user experience and advocate for customer needs, transforming insights into refined, impactful UI components. I designed a suite of innovative touchscreen applications on Serious Integrated Modules (SIM) for various industries, spanning food & beverage, automotive, and electronics. Projects included developing a training application for the Renesas Synergy platform, an automotive application to monitor component temperatures, and a unique vending machine interface that allowed TCBY to dispense yogurt and toppings seamlessly. I also created several other applications for internal use and demos. My work drove user-centric design across 4.3- to 7-inch touchscreen modules, showcasing versatility in adapting UX principles to diverse market needs and advanced technologies.

As a user experience designer for Velocicore I primarily designed mobile and desktop applications for the Windows Phone and Windows 8 platforms. I also extended my role to create front-end layouts in Visual Studio for handoff to development. This also allowed my ability to quickly create higher fidelity prototypes. Velocicore was also a California corporation that I had co-founded. The process of starting a corporation was a great opportunity to learn higher-level business functions, and to be more well-rounded in the business world.

As a communications supervisor I managed, mentored, and guided 12 direct reports. I was responsible for building a proficient communications team that far exceeded the abilities of any other groups associated with us. Some of my duties included developing field deployment plans, finding new innovative ways of speeding up our setup and breakdown times, created educational and training plans for direct reports, conducted monthly and annual direct report reviews, and managed dozens of cryptographic capable equipment. My actions in this role resulted in two meritorious promotions and two Navy and Marine Corps Achievement Medals.
