I was born in The Netherlands with three-quarters Dutch and one quarter Russian blood in my veins and moved to the UK in 1976, to Turkey in 2008 and to Cyprus in 2020. My Polish wife Kaska and I have two fantastic children, Helena (living in Cyprus with sons Jack and Oliver), and Sebastian (Tea Taster at Tetley) living in Brighton, UK, with daughter Ava.Having established an electronics distribution company in Holland in the late sixties, I trained as an sound engineer and recording studio designer. After moving to the U.K., this knowledge was broadened to include acoustics and human auditory perception. In 1983 I joined JVC, the Japanese consumer-electronics giant, where for 18 years I fulfilled a series of senior roles, including that of head of marketing and corporate planning & development. In the new millennium I put my marketing and people skills to good use by helping a number of smaller companies return to profitability and sustained growth.In parallel to my corporate life I started training as a group counsellor some thirty-five years ago, ran parenting and parents-to-be groups and became a master-trainer. I am passionate about better learning methods and specialise in neuro sensory activation techniques that assist in the further development of children and adults with learning difficulties. I have hands-on experience of working with individuals with a variety of difficulties, ranging from mild dyslexia to severe autism. For many years I was an active board member of the international Society for Effective Affective Learning (SEAL).I am an accomplished conference presenter with a style that is highly engaging and motivational, making complex issues accessible to a wide audience and have presented at over sixty international conferences. I have developed intervention programmes for children and adults with learning difficulties, or who simply want to enhance their development and enjoyment of life.
