Brought on board as a Video Editor, I was rapidly promoted to Visual Effects Designer, then to my current creative leadership role as Visual Effects Director. In addition to managing post-production on television commercials for this award-winning direct-response TV production company, whose clients have included Comet, National Geographic, and Sears, I am frequently called upon to manage design and art direction responsibilities, as well as to solve technical problems on the fly. I believe it's not about adhering to formal job descriptions, but contributing my skills where needed to get the job done on time and on budget for our clients. I was recruited for this full-time role following my first day on the job as a freelancer after I utilized my rotoscoping skills to save the company thousands of dollars in less than one hour. My primary role within this $3B manufacturing company was designing, animating, and editing a high volume of 1- to 8-minute videos each week to promote new products and translate our clients' vision, messaging, and brands into compelling visuals. I handled all post-production elements including sound design and conversion for multiple dimensions and formats.
