My name is Steven Missimer, and I have extensive experience working with the U.S. Government, much of it in the veterans’ space.☞ My work focus is on supporting the American Public through execution of hiring actions for the Department of Health and Human Services in the Administration for Strategic Preparedness and Response (ASPR). The main focus of ASPR is to save lives and protect Americans from 21st century health security threats! ☞ My social focus is on veterans’ issues, where some nonprofits have fallen by the wayside and others face daunting challenges. They need someone to show them how to Follow One Course Until Successful (FOCUS), and that’s where I come in. I’m honest and tell people what they NEED to hear.Building a 30-plus-year career of executive leadership and management, I’m committed to the social sector where helping with reorganization and execution leads to success.I’ve have found much fulfillment working in those areas. For instance:► I’m a senior leader in the Division of Human Capital, leading the Shared Services Branch responsible for the execution of all hiring actions for Full Time and Intermittent Employees that support ASPR's primary response and recovery mission during natural disasters in our country. ► I was a senior leader on the headquarters team at the Henry M. Jackson Foundation responsible for the Deployment Health Clinical Center and its six Directorates and 13 Divisions. An important part of that is screening expansion for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury to all 413 military Medical Treatment Facilities around the globe.► For four years with the USO, I helped administer the “Lift the Spirits of Troops and Their Families” mission that operates 12 major programs worldwide. ► I created Potomac Enterprises to help companies elevate their bottom lines through executive management, strategic planning, training and marketing.► As a Program Manager in the U.S. Air Force both in the U.S. and in Italy, I worked 12 years in communications and overseeing technology.✪ One source of pride for me is the USO2GO program in which we sent mini USO centers anywhere in the world where troops in some of the most remote locations needed them.
