▪Facilitating and executing equity/option trades on behalf of registered Investment Advisors for Dominion Securities▪Acting as a gatekeeper by warning Investment Advisors if market conditions (timing, liquidity, volatility, economic or geopolitical news) may be against the client’s best interest at the time.▪Work orders at my discretion giving volume and spread, both manually and with quantitative models. Utilize dealers and traders to source liquidity/best price. ▪Advising Investment Advisors on equity selection and market strategy upon request.▪Quantify and mitigate risk.▪Maintain and develop internal reporting documents.

▪Provide primary trading Support for Institutional Trading desk, primarily Fidessa.▪Level One support and liaison between Business unit/Traders and Technology for CASH Equities Application & Algorithmic electronic trading related issues.▪Monitoring and management of the trading applications.▪Act as Primary Lead on outages - managing communication, conference bridges and problem management through to resolution; tracking of postmortems, bug fixes, enhancements etc.▪Contact exchange to resolve connectivity problems; issues with receiving rejects on orders, cancels or amends; getting Outs/Cancellations on stuck orders or any other trade related issues.▪Troubleshoot & fix booking & reporting related breaks identified by operations and/or front-office control.▪Conduct training & knowledge sharing sessions and documentation of all support related information.▪Support the integration of new releases, bug fixes, patches and configuration changes into production, including post release checks and trader training / notification.▪Liaise with Trade Surveillance / Compliance to locate trades and identify trade attributes.

•Gatekeeper of Fidessa and GBOI applications, which are RBC’s front and back office trading systems, ensuring all users have appropriate access levels, providing constant surveillance and taking action on any problematic orders/trades according to traders needs.•Assist US Agency Traders by routing/cancelling orders with various US Brokers when necessary.•Work effectively in a high stress trading floor environment by directly supporting all equity traders (Institutional, Retail, and Pro) in resolving all rejected/failing trades.•Effectively assist in the migration of FIX clients onto a new in house back office trading application (GBOI) as part of a “GBOI Migration Team”, granting appropriate accesses, setting client trading defaults, as well as performing any required testing.•Play a key role in a migration of RBC Capital Markets’ European OMS’ back office handling into GBOI, ensuring all static data is extracted and mapped correctly, as well as providing validation in a Development, UAT, and Production environments.•Identify inefficiencies within trading applications, escalate and co-ordinate with development teams to streamline functions that will minimize manual intervention during automated processes.•Manage trading inventories and washbook accounts, working with traders, middle office, and back office teams to reconcile any out-of balances to ensure that any errors are covered in a timely manner to minimize exposing the firm to any undue risk.•Extensive use of various trading software such as Bloomberg, Thomson Reuters, and Fidessa.

•Analyzed all US Equity trades for Capital Markets and Dominion Securities on T+1 to ensure that the CDS (Canadian Depository for Securities Limited) corresponds with the NSCC (National Securities Clearing Corporation) on previous days trades.•Investigated the cause of differences through correspondence with New York and Canadian Traders, making any necessary adjustments to trader’s inventories and/or clients accounts.•Assisted in the constant improvement of the US Equity Clearing process to create a more effective daily reconciliation and reduce the amount of daily trade breaks that occur.•Accustomed to high level of regulation and compliance involved with the capital markets sector.•Cross-trained to cover duties of Options Clearing desk.
