• Managed planning and execution of all-optical electrophysiology imaging/screening, overseeing terabytes of imaging data per day (>10,000 cell recordings each week)• Demonstrated a three-fold increase in capacity (2017 vs 2016) with no net staff increase after taking leadership of imaging department• Developed novel SWARM plate reader, photodiode-based, four-color excitation, three-color emission, compatible with 1536-well plates, achieved Z-primes of 0.86• Personally designed and built custom picoammeter (10 pA sensitivity) and LED/laser driver circuits for the plate reader

Designed, installed and managed qualification of a 96- and 384-well-compatible Firefly™ instrument• Firefly is a wide field drug screening platform utilizing custom hardware and assays that utilize custom human and primary cell lines, optogenetic actuators and sensors. • Utilized a mixture of hands-on CAD and fab, custom design/build electronics, as well as management of external opto-mechanical design and fabrication resources.
