I joined the company to help develop an analytical and strategic framework for Urgent Team's growth prospects. Working with the executive team, I also manage communication with our private equity backers, conduct diligence on corporate development activities, and lead the company's budgeting process.

Optimized a marketing database targeting middle market intermediaries and transaction professionals in the private equity space. Developed and enhanced fund-raising materials for CCSD II, a targeted $100 million fund currently seeking new investors and actively deploying capital into the healthcare and business services sectors. Conducted preliminary business analysis and cash flow modeling for potential investments, and created detailed portfolio analytics for existing debt and equity investments.

Founded in 1985, Gen Cap America is a private investment firm headquartered in Nashville, Tennessee. Gen Cap specializes in acquisitions and recapitalizations of lower middle market businesses. The firm is actively investing Southvest Fund VI, a $165 million fund closed in March 2009. While interning at Gen Cap, my primary roles included initial analysis of potential investments, joining the deal team for active acquisition opportunities, and attending marketing functions sponsored by the Association for Corporate Growth (ACG). I also worked to bolster the firm's contact database within the M&A space, and ultimately added over 1200 additional investment bankers, brokers, and intermediaries.

Startup Tennessee is spearheading a first ever, state-wide Regional Accelerator program to cultivate entrepreneurial development--launching, linking and leveraging nine Business Accelerators across the state, to equip startups & entrepreneurs with the resources needed to launch, to grow, & to raise capital for high-growth potential businesses. Startup Tennessee is partnered with the Entrepreneur Center and the Startup America Partnership.The Entrepreneur Center (the EC) is one of the leading business accelerators and incubators in the nation. Within its first year, the EC has viewed, met with, and qualified over 700 entrepreneurs, startups and business plans. 20 of those companies were invited to incubate within the EC, and countless others were assisted on a formation/support/mentorship basis. Within the first year, the Entrepreneur Center has also assisted these startups in raising over $5.2 Million in capital.

Led a team of credit specialists managing over $1 billion in credit exposure. Analyzed credit packages created by the credit specialists while collaborating to minimize past due payments and optimize the timing of sales and credit processes. Portfolio quality significantly exceeded bank credit benchmarks. Personally directed a credit portfolio consisting primarily of large corporate clients while consulting on a diverse suite banking services, which ranged from treasury management, investments and 401(k) plans to corporate syndications and bond underwriting.
