Developing a new mobile app (Android & IOS) for Wells Fargo using Kotlin Multiplatform.

• Explore and evaluate emerging technologies to help guide the future of mobile development at the bank. • Serve as Android & Kotlin SME for the bank's mobile teams.• Invented a novel, patent-pending approach for automating UI regression testing.• Oversaw the modernization of the mobile team's software development methodology: transitioned the team from Perforce to Bitbucket; defined the code review process & guidelines; trained the team on usage of Atlassian tools (JIRA, Bitbucket).• Worked directly with the CameraX and ML Kit teams at Google to evaluate pre-release versions of CameraX.• Created an image processing library based on OpenCV, CameraX, and ML KIt for document scanning and analysis.• Developed intelligent voice assistant prototypes for various bank related activities leveraging Google’s Dialogflow and the bank’s internal Erica services.• Deep dive into Kotlin Multiplatform to evaluate the current state of the technology and identify opportunities for use in bank applications.• Shepherded the adoption of Kotlin by the bank’s Android teams.• Conducted an extensive study of Flutter including several substantial prototypes to evaluate its suitability for bank applications, both as standalone Flutter apps and as Flutter modules in existing apps.• Created several Augmented Reality experiences leveraging ARCore and Sceneform to explore ways of using AR to enhance customer experience.

• Architected and led a major redesign of Lowe’s flagship Android app. My team delivered this all new Material Design based app on time and under budget.• Lead engineer and architect on several other major projects including a remedial rewrite of the previous Lowe’s Android app that reduced code size by 50%, and resolved over 100 high-severity defects. • Achieved and maintained a better than 99.9% crash-free rate while adding numerous features to the Lowe's app.• Mentor, motivate and develop performance of a team of 8 engineers.• Engage in productive collaboration with Product Owner, Project Manager, Scrum Master, Business Analysts and QA Lead to ensure on-time delivery of high quality software.• Liaison with Lowe’s Innovation Labs supporting their work on the Lowe’s Vision app, an augmented reality tool that allows customers to easily measure a room and visualize it styled with Lowe’s products. Also led the integration of the Vision app with the Lowe’s Android app. • Work closely with the Product Manager to evaluate and refine requirements for future mobile initiatives.• Created numerous prototypes and proofs of concept to evaluate emerging technologies and drive business decisions.• Drove business acceptance of several new features in the Lowe’s app including voice search, deep linking, fingerprint authentication, SmartLock, and extending core features to home screen widgets and smart watches.• Championed the adoption of wearable technology in the Lowe’s Android app and designed and developed the Android Wear component currently available in the Play Store.
