In this job I was second line support for the businesses support desk, supporting their wide client base. I have experience with a variety of software products, including Microsoft Active Directory, Exchange, Office 365 and more. I also support all customer networks including documentation, infrastructure diagrams, monitoring and managing the security of the customer networks with firewalls such as Watch Guard.

During my time in the role I have provided 1st line technical support from an infrastructure point of view to staff members on sites. I worked under the Voice and Data engineer and have helped work and develop network/telecoms at different PGL sites in the UK and EU (this has meant staying away from home). This job has been a great first step for me in working professionally in the IT industry. Networking I have gained skills in working with HP switches which has been great to see and helped me with my Cisco studies. To help myself develop knowledge in my spare time I learned basic Cisco CME while studying the CCNA to help gain further knowledge in telecoms. It has also given me opportunity’s to work with providers and 3rd parties.In addition to gaining skills prior to what I had self-learned at home, I have developed skills in the telecoms sector. This includes working on Siemens telecoms equipment and phones.

Monmouth

General factory work in which was mostly assemble work and testing of products. The products we supplied were to companies such as Mira showers and Bentley Motors. I have also done quality checks on products that were going out of the factory looking for faults on the electronics and wires such as insulation rip etc. The warehouse operative work was helping prepare the required parts, needed for the factory floor based on a job order. As well as goods inwards, I would inspect it on arrival to the warehouse as correlation to the quality control work I did.

The job was responsible for all transactions in the garage for sales within the forecourt regarding petrol and inside the shop. I had to ensure when a certain amount of cash was in the till it was deposited into the safe for security. This was a good start with the public in customer satisfaction and situations regarding shoplifters etc, and dealing with responsibility of money. At the time I was using this job as a stepping stone into the police force.
