Lead Developer
CurrentIn March 2016 I formed Rightway Data to work with different organisations, facing new data challenges, as I love diversity almost as much as I like consistency. Besides being the owner, I am also the technical director, which means directing how things get done and lead developer, which means actually doing them. As lead developer, I provide the SSRS reporting, SSIS data processing and any other data related solutions for my clients. During the first year, I focused on developing the following in-house tools to reduce development time, subsequently lowering client costs.Business Reports Manager Report documentation is necessary. You need to know what reports are available, their format, the data they contain, how and when they are run and who is responsible for them. BRM provides a database and set of reports for holding and presenting this information. While BRM can be used for reports in any format such as SSRS and Excel, for SSRS reports BRM also provides a data-driven approach to formatting and organisation branding.Package Management FrameworkAs with reports, SSIS package documentation is necessary. You need to know what packages are running, how often they run, their purpose, their dependencies and who is responsible for them. PMF is an SSIS framework that provides a database for documenting and data driving SSIS packages. PMF includes package templates containing reusable, common functionality and a suite of SSRS reports for package and package run details. PMF also uses the Business Reports Manager for managing its reports.Additionally, I developed the Rightway Data website using Joomla 3.7 which was an enjoyable and educational experience, however, it is obvious I am not a web developer and in the future will be leaving that up to the experts.I am actively seeking new clients, so give me a shout to discuss how I can help with your SSRS/SSIS or other data related challenges.
