LieutenantFire Department City Of New York May 2000 - May 2006After being promoted to Lieutenant, I was assigned to EMS Division 2 in the Bronx. I spent time at EMS Station 20, EMS Station 15, EMS Station 18 and was an alternate to the Payroll officer in EMS Division 2. Then in April of 2002, I was offered and accepted a position at FDNY Headquarters in the Planning Unit. In that position, I started learning about Geographic Information Systems (GIS) from Chief John Peruggia and Chris McDaniels from the Management Analysis Unit. I personally like the field so I then started learning more about GIS on my own. In August 2003, a position opened to be in charge of the FDNY GIS Unit. I requested the position and was given the opportunity to be in charge of the GIS Unit which is where I currently work.
